Mayfield Independent to provide school supplies to students

Parents of students of Mayfield Independent Schools will not find school supply lists on the website or in stores this summer. Mayfield Independent Schools will be providing school supplies for the 2022-2023 school year.

The district, using federal Covid relief funds, will be working with teachers to provide all school supplies for the upcoming school year.

According to Mayfield Independent Schools Superintendent Joe Henderson, this will directly benefit each student attending Mayfield Independent. “Families won’t have to spend time and money looking for school supply lists and then trying to find each item on that list. We are going to take care of that for them this year.”  While there may be other opportunities within the community for students to receive school supplies, the basic supply needs will be provided by the school district.

“Our students and families have gone through a lot these past few years, first with the pandemic, then again with the December tornado,” said Henderson. “We hope this will help with some of that stress and financial burden for the upcoming school year.”
