Mayfield Independent Schools Enrichment Visits NOLA

The 4-day trip was part of the Mayfield Enrichment Program that allowed students to explore, learn, and gain experiences outside of the classroom. Students participated in many activities that the city of New Orleans has to offer.  Some highlights included a swamp tour by boat, touring Oak Alley Plantation, a walking cemetery tour, a glass blowing demonstration and printmaking class at the New Orleans Glassworks and Printing Studio, visiting the French Market and Jackson Square, participating in a cooking demonstration and meal at the New Orleans School of Cooking, and learning at the World War II Museum, Presbytere Museum,  and Mardi Gras Museum.  The Mayfield Enrichment Program is in the beginning stages of planning a trip in March of 2026.  For more information, please contact Sarah Dunn at [email protected] or Mary Seay at [email protected]ls.us.  Student participants are pictured at Oak Alley Plantation.
